Nyanza Genocide memorial site is situated in Kicukiro, a suburb in southeastern die of Kigali juts next to the Airport. Kicukiro district features about 6 genocide memorial centres and Nyanza ya Kicukiro is one of them but unfortunately innocent lives were claimed. This area has comprises of about 11000 Tutsi victims and today, most visitors frequent to this site while on Rwanda safaris and tours as a way to pay tribute to their relatives. About 14000 were buried at Rebero genocide memorial site.
