ENGAGI LODGE -BWINDI
Engagi Lodge is a small exclusive property on the edge of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, close to the park headquarters, offering luxury accommodation in Uganda.
The word “Engagi” simply means Gorilla in the language of the natives, commonly known as “Rukiiga”.

Engagi Lodge is a small and exclusive property on the edge of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, close to the park headquarters. The lodge is open-ended at the front allowing a dramatic view of the Bwindi National Park from every corner inside the building. It should be noted that Bwindi National Park inhabits almost half of the world’s last remaining population of the critically endangered mountain gorillas.
The accommodation at Engagi lodge consists of eight en-suite beautiful Cottages which are evenly spaced out and hidden in the foliage. Each Cottage has either double or twin beds, a bathroom with flushing toilets and hot and cold running water. All units have private verandahs where guests can enjoy their early morning tea or coffee, all with beautiful views of the forest. Staying at Engagi lodge while on your gorilla safari in Uganda makes your trip more than an adventure!
Engagi Lodge Bwindi – Uganda
The kitchen, which has been built a distance away from the lodge to ensure privacy for the clients, prepares a variety of three course meals and all requirements such as vegetarians and vegans are catered for by the team of experienced / trained chefs from Kampala and Nairobi.
The main lodge comprises a rock bar that serves all sorts of beverages, the restaurant and a large wooden verandah with a separate outdoor viewing platform. Engagi lodge building is large enough to cater for size-able groups needing banqueting tables, but still allows smaller individual groups to spread out in the various different areas for privacy.
