Brief itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival – transfer to the home of mountain Gorillas
Day 2: Gorilla tracking
Day 3:Dian Fossey Tomb -Transfer to Akagera N.P
Day 4: Game drive – afternoon Boat trip on Lake Ihema.

Detailed Itinerary:
DAY 1: Volcanoes National Park
You will be welcomed by a guide who will drive north of Rwanda to Volcanoes National Park viewing the spectacular scenery of the Virunga Mountains en route. Dinner and overnight stay at Villa Gorilla, Bisate Lodge, Ingagi View Lodge.
DAY 2: Gorilla Tracking
Breakfast and head to the park headquarters with packed lunch and water for a briefing about the dos and don’ts while with the gorillas then proceed to track the gorillas. Time taken searching for these Gentle giants ranges between 2-8hours depending on the movement of gorillas. Dinner and overnight stay at your respective lodges on day 1.
DAY 3: Visit Dian Fossey tombs
After breakfast, you will go to tour the tombs of the great lover of Gorillas (Dian Fossey), read more about her achievements towards the preservation of Gorillas. Return to your lodge for lunch and transfer to Akagera National park, this is a home of a variety of wildlife namely Elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, waterbucks, common or cape eland, roan antelope, hippopotamuses, sitatunga, Burchell’s zebras, olive common baboons, giraffes, crocodiles, little bee-eaters, open billed stock, marabou stock black-headed gonolek, robin charts among others. Dinner and overnight at Akagere game lodge / Ruzizi Tented Lodge.
DAY 4: Morning Game drive and afternoon boat cruise
Breakfast, proceed for a game safari to catch up with the early raisers and predators returning to their hideouts, expect to see a variety of wild animals like Giraffes, Elephants, Buffaloes, warthogs, waterbucks to mention but a few. Along with side animals, you will also see special bird species like little bee eaters, open billed stock, marabou stock black-headed gonolek, robin charts. Return to Lodge for lunch as you prepare for the afternoon boat cruise at lake Ihema. While enjoying a boat ride, you will see crocodiles, Hippos and many birds, the boat provides a clear platform for photographing. Return to your Lodge for dinner and overnight.
DAY 5: Game drive or Community Tour – Afternoon relaxation
Early morning breakfast, with your lunch box and drinking water, you will do a long game drive that will lead to a swamp where there’s always a concentration of different wild animals and onwards to another western gate of the park. Return to your Lodge for relaxation while enjoying the view of the park, share great memories as you wait for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Return to Kigali for a city tour
Enjoy your breakfast and transfer to Kigali, visit the Gisozi genocide memorial, Local Art and craft shops, National Museum and so on. Dinner and overnight at Kigali Serena Hotel, Marriott Hotel Kigali, Manor Hotel or Urban Boutique Hotel.
Day 7: Departure
After breakfast, Visit fruit markets, do last minute shopping and transfer to Kigali International Airport for your scheduled flight.
