Safari Overview: 21 Days of Great Adventure – Uganda Rwanda
- The trip starts in Uganda and ends Rwanda.
- Visitors fly into Entebbe International Airport and Fly out at Kigali International Airport in Uganda and Rwanda respectively.

Detailed itinerary:
Day 1, Arrival at Entebbe international airport
Meet our safari guide at Entebbe International Airport, he will brief you shortly and thereafter, transfer you to Kampala for a full day rest or have an evening city walk if you are still energetic. You will have dinner and overnight at Kampala Serena Hotel, Cassia lodge or Kampala Lodge.
Day 2, Drive to Jinja (Water rafting)
Wake up for hearty breakfast as you wait for our safari guide who will transfer you to Jinja, en-route visit to the Sezibwa falls, Mabira forest, tea, and sugar estates. You will reach Jinja early enough for lunch and after, you visit the source of the Nile, and then Bujagali falls.
Alternatively, we can have a full day white water rafting in Jinja, return to Kampala reaching in the evening. Dinner and Overnight stay at your hotel. (Day 1)
Day 3, Kampala City Tour
Be picked from your HoteI after breakfast to enjoy the city tour. Visit Namugongo shrines, where Christian believers were burnt live for failing to denounce their faith. The martyrs were burnt under the instructions of King Mwanga; visit the Baha’i temple, the only temple in Africa of the Baha’i Tempo, later, visit the National museum where Uganda cultural regalia are kept.
After Lunch, you visit Makerere University, Kasubi Tombs, currently under reconstruction where the Kabakas of Buganda Kingdom were buried, Gadhaffi Mosque, Namirembe Cathedral, Lubaga Cathedral, Lubili King’s palace. Return to your hotel in the evening for dinner and overnight. (Day 1)
Day 4, Drive to Murchison Falls National Park
After breakfast, we shall set off to Uganda’s largest park –Murchison Falls National park, reaching Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for Rhino Tracking. Have lunch in Masindi town and thereafter, you will then continue to Murchison National park. Move to enjoy the scenic view to the top of the falls and later drive to Paraa Safari Lodge, Murchison River Lodge, Pakuba Safari Lodge, Nile Safari Camp or Red Chill Rest Camp.
Day 5, Morning Game drive and Boat Cruise
Early start with a cup of tea/coffee and proceed for a morning game safari to be able to catch up with early risers like lions, leopard, hyenas, bushbucks, giraffes, Elephants, Buffaloes, and so on. Return to the hotel for late breakfast, relaxation as you wait for lunch.
After lunch, you will have a boat cruise to the bottom of the Victoria Nile falls which will reward you with a view of the game such as hippos, crocodiles, buffalos, elephants as well as a variety of bird species. Dinner and overnight stay (Day 4)
Day 6, Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
Breakfast and embark on a scenic journey to Fort Portal, a beautiful town overlooking the mountains of the moon. Taking the Western scenic route to Kibale National Park, this journey will take you through the Albertine rift found in the Western arm of the Great East African rift valley. Reaching Fort Portal early evening, relax and refresh at the Lodge. Dinner and overnight at Ndali lodge, Papaya Lake Lodge, Primate Lodge, Kibale Forest Camp or Chimpanzee Guest House.
Day 7, Chimpanzee Trekking and afternoon Nature Walk
Breakfast and drive to the park headquarters for the briefing by the park guides. You will locate the chimps by listening for their pant-hooting calls, then hustle to the area from which they are calling. You will see more other primates such as the red colobus, black and white colobus and the red-tailed monkey. After lunch, visit Bigodi swamp where you will see over 138 different bird species including the great blue turaco, plant species, and butterflies will be seen in the forest. Dinner and overnight at (Day 6).
Day 8, Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park and Boat Cruise
After breakfast, drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, with en-route game safari while entering the park. On your arrival, have lunch and proceed for the boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. Different animals that come to drink water at the channel and water birds will be viewed along the shores such as buffallos, elephants, school of hippos, huge Nile crocodiles as well as a variety of bird species. Dinner and Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge, Enganzi Lodge, King Fisher Lodge, Kasenyi Safari Camp or Bush Lodge.
Day 9, Morning Game Safari and Nature Walk
After a cup of coffee/ tea, go for an early morning game safari along Kasenyi tracks and Queens’s mile in the park. You will see lions, elephants, cape buffalos, warthogs, and spotted hyenas, mongoose, waterbucks, Kobs and many more. Drive back to the lodge for late breakfast and lunch. In the afternoon, go for a forest nature walk in Maramagambo forest, where you will encounter a variety of bird species, tree species, visit the bat caves. Return to the Lodge for dinner and overnight stay (Day 8).
Day 10, Relax for half-day, drive to Ishasha
A relaxed morning, breakfast, visit Kasenyi fishing villages and Katwe salt mines, later drive to Ishasha sector, home to tree-climbing lions, dinner, and overnight at Ishasha River Camp, Ishasha Wilderness Lodge, Ishasha Jungle Lodge or Enjojo lodge.
Day 11, Game Safari – Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Game safari in search of tree-climbing lions alongside other animals such as Elephants, Buffaloes and many antelope species. Proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to the endangered mountain gorillas. On your arrival, you will relax at the lodge while preparing to meet gorillas in the next day. Dinner and overnight at Mahogany Springs Lodge, Gorilla mist camp, Trackers Safari Lodge, Buhoma Lodge
Day 12, Gorilla Tracking Adventure
Breakfast and assemble at the park headquarters with your packed lunch and water, and attend a briefing about gorilla tracking. The steeply forested landscape is incredibly dense but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. Tracking may take 2-7 hours depending on the movements of the gorillas in their natural habitat.
You will be given a maximum of one hour once you encounter them, take pictures (of-course without flashlight), and videos. Later descend to your lodge for relaxation. If still early, you may go for a community walk in the evening to visit the Batwa (pygmies) and get entertained with their traditional dances. Dinner and overnight stay (Day 11).
Day 13, Depart for Lake Bunyonyi
After breakfast, we shall transfer to Lake Bunyonyi one of the deepest lakes in Africa and bilharzia-free. We shall have a boat ride around the surrounding islands with a great view of terraced hills and relax at the shores of the lake for a scenic view. Dinner and overnight at Arcadia Cottages/Bunyonyi Birdnest Resort/Bunyonyi overland resort or Bunyonyi Rock Resort.
Day 14, Full day Relaxation and canoe Ride
Have a full day relaxation while enjoying the scenic view at the shores of Lake Bunyonyi. We can take a canoe to visit different Islands and interact with Batwa tribes living there.
Day 15, Cross to Volcanoes National Park – Rwanda
Early morning after breakfast, we shall set off to Volcanoes National park in Rwanda. Dinner and overnight at Muhabura Hotel/Bisate Lodge/Mountain gorilla view Lodge/Virunga Lodge.
Day 16, Explore Volcanoes Gorilla Park Rwanda
Optional activities here include;
- Gorilla tracking

- Visit Dian Fossey Tombs
- Cultural Village Tours
- Musanze caves exploration
Day 17, Drive to Lake Kivu
Transfer to Lake Kivu, where you will enjoy a boat ride to the coffee island, the hot springs, the Goma-Congo Boarder, a clear view on Nyiragongo volcanoes. Dinner and overnight at Paradise Malahide Hotel, Stipp Hotel/Lake Kivu Serena Hotel.
Day 18, Drive to Nyungwe Forest National Park
Breakfast is followed by transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park, with en route stopovers for scenic photography and lunch. Reach Nyungwe in the afternoon for dinner and overnight at One&Only Nyungwe House/ Nyungwe Hill Top View Hotel or Gisakura Guest House.
Day 19, Chimps Trek, and Canopy walk or Colobus Monkey Tracking
Morning breakfast is followed by a breathtaking chimpanzee tracking experience, after lunch, proceed for a fantastic canopy walk, which will give you a clear top view of the Nyungwe forest, waterfalls and a variety of birds at eye-level contact.
Day 20, Drive to Kigali via Murambi genocide museum
Breakfast and drive to Kigali, with en-route visit to Murambi genocide museum, Rwanda National Museum at Butare/Huye, and Nyanza king’s palace. Lunch en-route, dinner, and overnight at Chez Lando Hotel, The Manor Hotel or Step Town Hotel.
Day 21: Kigali City tour, Departure
Breakfast followed by a city tour around Kigali, visit Gisozi genocide museum in Kigali, Nyamata and Ntarama churches among others. Depending on your departure flight, you will be transferred to the airport for your onward flight.
