Plan Rwanda donates to the genocide survivors in Gatsibo
17 families of Genocide survivors in Kiziguro sector in Gatsibo district of Rwanda received donations for Plan Rwanda, a nonprofit organisation on 9th, April, 2014.
Among the items received included building materials such as iron sheets and iron bars, food stuffs like rice, maize flour, and cooking oil, mattresses, bedings and soap collectively worth Rwf2.5 million.
According to the Vice mayor for social affairs in Gatsibo district of Rwanda Mr.Esperence Uwimpuhwe, they have a big number genocide survivors to help. He thanked Plan Rwanda for the support in bringing hope to the 1994 genocide survivors.
Plan Rwanda has been operating in Rwanda since January 2007, with the major role of helping poor children to access their rights to health, quality education and a sustainable future.
Plan Rwanda is currently working with more than 12,000 sponsored children, their families and communities in Gatsibo, Nyaruguru and Bugesera districts of Rwanda. In Gatsibo district, Plan Rwanda is promoting girl child education, building classrooms and donating livestock to the vulnerable to fight poverty.
